SUMMARY:Topology optimisation training, Simcenter 3D, online
DESCRIPTION:Training overview\nThe goal for the training is to obtain enough knowledge of topology optimisation in Simcenter 3D (SC3D)  to setup structural topology optimisation simulations using Simcenter Nastran SOL200. Material presented will focus on the application of topology optimisation in SC3D using examples and workshops, with less stress put on the theory behind it.\nThe training will provide strategies in how to setup the model from CAD to postprocessing of the optimised results ( https://volupe.com/simcenter-3d/result-probes-simcenter-3d/ ). After the training the participant should be familiar with topology optimisation concepts in SC3D related to preprocessing and subdividing the geometry before simulation setup. Moreover, different meshing strategies and their benefits will be shown in addition to the setup of the SOL200 ( https://volupe.com/simcenter-3d/benefits-of-using-simcenter-3d-sol101-sol200-restarts/ ) solution itself, in which the participant will become familiar with the simulation modeling objects making up the optimisation; such as objectives, design areas and design constraints.\nLastly, ways of postprocessing the optimised results in SC3D and NX will be shown to further refine the design output by the topology optimisation solution.\nDuration: One half-day (4 h).\nTraining content\nSession 1\n\nPreprocessing, how to prepare a geometry for topology optimisation\nMeshing and setting up a SOL200 solution, considerations for the mesh as well as simulation modeling objects required.\nPostprocessing, looking at the “Optimization Spreadsheet”, material density results, export of the geometry and postprocessing of the faceted geometry obtained from optimisation.\n\nPrerequisites\nIntroduction training, Simcenter 3D or equivalent experience in the software.\n
