Job Description

Position Overview
The Application Specialist is responsible for ensuring the technical success of our customers using the Altair software suite. Working closely with customers to understand their engineering workflows, the Application Specialist proposes solutions and best practices to help clients meet their objectives and improve their processes. The role includes classroom training, mentoring, and providing direct customer support through our award-winning support model, "Colleague Across the Border." The position also collaborates closely with the sales team to identify opportunities for expanding usage within accounts and engages with customers to realize that growth. Excellent communication skills and a passion for working with clients are critical to success in this fast-paced, multifaceted engineering role. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned set of accounts, addressing all technical issues related to the use of the Altair product suite. Identify problems and take responsibility for resolving issues successfully.
  • Support the sales process by developing account intelligence, identifying opportunities to increase software usage, and assisting with software development and deployment.
  • Engage in technical discussions with customers to gather and understand simulation requirements, propose solutions, and communicate the benefits of our approach.
  • Conduct training sessions on both introductory and advanced topics related to Altair product suite.
  • Perform benchmark simulations and test cases to explore new methods, establish best practices, and verify results.
  • Manage multiple projects and support engagements simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate new software capabilities to customers.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Sc. or Ph.D. in a related field
  • 3+ years of industrial experience with Altair Hyperworks product suite and general simulation tools.
  • Ability to learn new skills and adapt to customer application needs.
  • Excellent communication, organization, time management, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in English

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Familiarity with Altair Hyperworks, preferably within the mechanical and electromagnetic area.
  • Working knowledge of common design processes, objectives and constraints in one of the following industries: Marine, Aerospace, Automotive, Oil & Gas, Energy, combustion, etc.
  • Any of the Nordic languages, German, Polish, Spanish, etc
