Simcenter STAR-CCM+ offers enhanced post-processing with a sophisticated Advance Rendering engine. But there are some practical guidelines as well as tips and tricks which will allow you to produce realistic images for your Marine Application. In this weeks blog post I test and summarize Flavio Cimolin´s fantastic ideas on my favourite marine application.
We start from a calm water simulation of a heeled sailing yacht. The simulation is set up with the VTT template for demonstration purpose only. I will demonstrate:
1.     How can I display my original detailed CAD in a transient DFBI simulation with simplified geometry?
2.     How can I extend my free surface visualization towards a more realistic horizon in the far field?
3.     How can I obtain a realistic picture of my marine case with free surface using Advanced Rendering?
