A starting point for any new simulation: the two physics continua that Volupe’s engineers use most often, a parameterised pipe geometry for a quick test run, and name-based filters that speed up the set-up when you swap in your own part. The animation in the next section shows how to start from it.

How to use a template
1. Download and unzip the file. Each package is an archive with one simulation file.
2. Open it in Simcenter STAR-CCM+. Use the version the template was saved in or a newer one; the get-started template needs version 2306 or later.
3. Follow the simulation guide. It lists the recommended settings in order, with notes and links to the documentation. The animation below shows how to start a new simulation from the get-started template and open its guide.
4. Bring in your own case. Replace the geometry, then check the models, boundary conditions and mesh against your application before you run.
