Simcenter STAR-CCM+ will help improve simulation workflow at Gorenje.
July 1, 2024

Volupe AB and Gorenje have come to an agreement for the delivery of simulation software and support in Simcenter STAR-CCM+.

Gorenje is a Slovenian appliance manufacturer founded in 1950, based in Velenje, Slovenia. It is the fourth largest manufacturer of household appliances in Europe and since 2018 a part of the global Hisense group. Appliances are sold under the company's own global brands Gorenje, Asko, and Hisense and numerous local brands (Mora, Atag, Pelgrim, Etna etc.). R&D, testing and main production facilities are located in Velenje.

During the evaluation period the focus has been to improve the workflow with Simcenter STAR-CCM+. “We have seen a quicker geometry preparation and meshing workflow with less manual labour,” says Dr. Blaž Starc, Head of Numerical simulations at Gorenje.

Apart from the workflow improvements, scalability has been an important requirement from Gorenje. “We were happy to see 3,2x times faster simulations with double number of cores compared to our existing solution,” Dr. Starc continues.

Improvements and faster results aside, we at Volupe are very proud that Gorenje has chosen Volupe and STAR-CCM+ as their preferred CFD simulation tool. We look forward to delivering a valuable support experience to Gorenje,” says Volupe’s CEO Robert Samuelsson.
