What happened to HyperWorks?
Simcenter HyperWorks, formerly Altair HyperWorks, is the design and simulation suite that Altair sold under the HyperWorks name. Siemens completed its acquisition of Altair in March 2025, and with the June 2026 release the HyperWorks software became part of the Simcenter portfolio. Siemens lists Simcenter HyperWorks as a trademark, but each tool now has its own Simcenter name.

What is Simcenter HyperWorks?
It is the former Altair HyperWorks suite, now part of Siemens’ Simcenter portfolio. Siemens lists Simcenter HyperWorks as a trademark, but its rebranding guide renames the tools one by one, so each has its own Simcenter name, such as Simcenter HyperMesh, OptiStruct, Radioss or Feko.
What changed for Altair HyperWorks users?
According to Siemens, the changes focus on naming, packaging and integration, and the technology stays the same. The June 2026 release brought version 2026.1 of each tool, and Altair’s support services have moved to the Siemens Support Center. Altair’s other platforms kept their own brands: Altair One keeps its name, and the HPC and data analytics tools moved to HPCWorks and Rapidminer. If you bought through Volupe, your Volupe contacts stay the same.
How are Altair HyperWorks licences priced now?
Siemens still describes Altair Units: a units-based subscription where your team draws units from a shared pool to run the products it needs, and the units return to the pool after use. What applies to your contract depends on your set-up. Whether you bought from Altair, another partner or Volupe, send us your current units and renewal date for a quote.
Is HyperWorks the same as HyperMesh?
No. Simcenter HyperMesh, formerly Altair HyperMesh, is one tool from the suite: it prepares and meshes models for CAE solvers, and its 2026 documentation is still titled “Altair HyperWorks 2026”. HyperWorks was the name for the whole suite.
Which former Altair tools does Volupe cover?

Will my models and scripts still work after the rename?
Siemens says the rebrand is designed to be additive, not disruptive, and that it preserves the tools and workflows you rely on today. Read the release notes for your version before you upgrade a production set-up, and ask us if something is unclear.
